Where it all began

Carol’s journey began in 1998 when she attended night classes at college while working on cosmetic counters specializing in makeup. She gained experience working in salons before progressing to roles such as Business Manager for Clarins and Beauty Manager at The McDonald Inchyra Hotel. She later became a salon owner in Falkirk, running her business for nearly four years. During this time, she specialized in acrylic and gel nail extensions alongside providing a range of beauty treatments.

In 2003, Carol began teaching at Forth Valley College while simultaneously managing her salon. After nearly four successful years in business, she was presented with a full-time teaching opportunity at one of Scotland’s leading colleges. She was thrilled to secure the position and embraced the role with enthusiasm.

Since 2006, Carol has achieved both the Assessor and Verifier awards and continued to develop her academic expertise. She completed a Degree in Professional Development (BAPD) at Aberdeen University in 2016, following her Teaching Qualification in Further Education (TQFE) in 2011.

Sekunda

I’ve worked in the beauty industry for over 17 years. My favourite treatments are massage and eye treatments.

I completed my TQFE at Stirling University qualifying with distinction. During my placement at West College Scotland, I taught beauty therapy units tailoring lessons to suit learner needs and abilities.

I also volunteer with MCR Pathways as a mentor for a young person in high school. I work as a relief childcare worker at Inspire Scotland and continue this role alongside my most recent role at Professional Salon Training.

I’m passionate about sharing my industry knowledge, helping learners build confidence, and preparing them for the world of work.

Gigi

With 6 years of experience in the makeup industry and a background in Fashion Makeup (HNC) and TV & Film Makeup (HND), I’ve had the chance to explore every corner of the beauty world — from editorial shoots to luxury makeup counters like Benefit and Dior, as well as weddings and special events. More recently, I’ve stepped into teaching, sharing my passion with students in colleges and high schools.

A proud bookworm and chocoholic, what I love most about my job is being part of someone’s story — whether that’s creating a bride’s dream look for her big day or inspiring the next generation of makeup artists in the classroom.

Rachel

I’m a professional hair and makeup artist with over 10 years of experience, specialising in weddings and creating natural, glowing looks that enhance beauty in the most effortless way. I first trained with JD Bridal Hair and Makeup before going on to study at the Academy of Makeup, where I refined my skills and deepened my love for this industry. Since then, I’ve been lucky enough to work with hundreds of brides and clients across Scotland and beyond, helping them feel their most confident and radiant on their special day.

Outside of my work, I’m a proud mum of three — two grown-up children and a lively little one who’s nearly three. My family is my world, and they keep me motivated and grounded. I’m also passionate about looking after my wellbeing: I love wild swimming, running, going to the gym, and lifting heavy weights. Reading is another joy of mine, giving me space to recharge and stay inspired.

I bring that same energy, balance, and creativity into my work, always aiming to make people not just look beautiful, but feel beautiful. I’m excited to continue growing my artistry and knowledge through professional salon training, and I can’t wait to bring both my passion and life experience into the next stage of my career

Brenda

With 20 years in spa & wellness, I’m a capable, results-driven therapist and educator. My career began in retail- working on the shop floor for Christian Dior. I developed my flair for retailing and cosmetic artistry and later went on to study beauty therapy. My career has taken me across the world — from South Africa to the UAE — holding prestigious spa contracts along the way.

After retraining in aesthetics and becoming laser qualified, I became an aesthetician working in London- later qualifying as an educator, holding posts as a clinical trainer and medical device demonstrator. Passionate about delivering excellence, I bring global experience, technical expertise, and dedication. I look forward to passing my skills on to my future students
